Belkiz Castellanos
Belkiz Castellanos is a contemporary mixed-media artist born in Colombia and based in West Palm Beach, Florida. Her work moves fluidly between abstract and figurative expression, exploring energy, light, and multidimensional form through richly textured surfaces.
With a strong foundation in figurative painting, advanced Venetian plaster techniques, and years of professional experience creating textured finishes and commissioned works in New York, Castellanos has developed a distinctive visual language centered on materiality, spatial depth, and sensory experience.
Following a profound period of personal transformation, she returned to her artistic practice with renewed vision and a deep appreciation for life. This new chapter marked a significant evolution in her work, leading her toward a deeper exploration of energy, dimensionality, and immersive artistic experiences.
Inspired by her faith, music, nature, animals, butterflies, and blooming orchids, she creates works that celebrate hope, resilience, and the human capacity for transformation. For Belkiz, painting is a language that transcends words. Every brushstroke embodies emotion, movement, and an inner universe that cannot be explained—it can only be felt.
Her current practice incorporates crystals, gold leaf, layered textures, epoxy resin, and UV-reactive elements, creating compositions that transform under ultraviolet light and reveal hidden dimensions that expand the viewer’s visual perception.
Many of her works are presented as immersive experiences in which visitors wear 3D glasses, allowing the paintings to visually transform and creating a unique interaction between the artwork and the viewer.
Rooted in deep spiritual awareness and a lifelong journey of personal growth, her work is created with the intention of inspiring inner reflection, emotional release, and energetic balance. Her paintings serve as visual portals that bridge the physical and the intangible, inviting moments of transformation, contemplation, and expanded consciousness.
Inspired by artists such as Pablo Picasso and Vincent van Gogh, she embraces color, expression, and creative freedom, inviting viewers into a world where imagination, emotion, and energy exist in perfect harmony.
Her work has been featured in exhibitions, immersive UV and 3D art experiences, Miami Art Week, Art Basel, and Miami Swim Week, establishing a distinctive artistic practice that merges visual innovation, symbolism, and multidimensional experiences. She currently lives and works in West Palm Beach, Florida.
